Foundation Programme for Support Services Staff in the HSEOverview | Course Outlines | Registering with the Learning Centre
Once you have completed your SKILLVEC programme you may wish to refresh your learning by accessing the online Foundation Programme for Support Service Staff available in the HSE’s Learning Centre. This Foundation Programme, also known as DECAF, has been developed specifically for support service staff in any healthcare setting. The programme was originally developed through a European Funded Leonardo Da Vinci project, of which Performance and Development HSE West was part, using as its starting point the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework and the SKILL Programme Support Services Competency Framework.
There are six courses within the online Foundation Programme.
- Communication
- Personal and People Development
- Health, Safety and Security
- Service Improvement
- Quality
- Equality and Diversity
For each course, there is also a formal face-to-face training package and trainer guidance notes for support staff line managers/trainers, all of which are available in the resources section.
The training package, including the six courses, is designed for and accessible to all support staff in the HSE. Each participant will receive a certificate for each completed course when they complete the final Quiz with a pass mark of 40%.
